Reflexology

Reflexology is a type of therapy that uses gentle pressure on specific points along your feet (and possibly on your hands or ears as well) to help you feel better. The theory is that this eases stress, and that helps your body work better. It's also known as zone therapy.
Reflexology is effective in identifying energy blockages and bodily health issues with all areas of the body mapping onto a persons feet. A skilled reflexologist can feel areas where energy is stagnant and use specific techniques to restore flow. This can improve energy levels and overall vitality.
Reflexology is a complementary therapy widely accepted in the UK and recognised by the NHS, many GP's and hospices. It is totally safe for people of all ages, from babies to the elderly, for pregnant women and those undergoing chemotherapy.
Contra-indications to Reflexology
Patients with foot fractures, unhealed wounds, or active gout in the foot should avoid reflexology. Patients with osteoarthritis that impacts the foot or ankle, or those with vascular disease of the legs or feet, should consult with their primary provider prior to beginning reflexology on the feet.
My Training
I trained full time in 2000 as a Reflexologist registering with the British Institute for Reflexology. I believe our bodies are miraculous and we have the ability to self care and heal. The body with its organs and systems are mapped onto the feet. Before flooring and shoes, man would have walked barefoot in nature automatically triggering the bodies enate ability and unique intelligence to self heal.
Completing hundreds of practical hours on clients including those with tumours as a complimentary health therapy. Reflexology applys pressure to points breaking down toxins and triggering well being, guided by our own immune systems all of which are unique. Whilst it is not a stand alone treatment for illness and disease it is a highly valued complementary technique, which my clients often report them leaving with a feeling that they are ‘Walking on air’
